This is a chance to work on the reboot of the 1990s popular teen series. You will be able to work hands-on to learn the process from Pre-Production to the time the episode delivers and is ready to stream on Netflix! We are looking for someone who is dedicated and has a passion for the Post Production process. Editorial, sound and colour is an integral part of telling a story, playing a vital role in the end result/experience of the final product. Development of this sector, particularly with a focus to include diversity, will support and deliver the quality and diverse stories we want to tell at Netflix.
The roles are full time paid positions for a 50-hr work week. The attachment runs for 17 weeks and will take you through the full Post Process from Pre-Production to Delivery. Starting September 27, 2021 – January 21, 2022. Sydney based roles.

Post Coordinator Attachment
For the Post Coordinator position, we are looking for someone who has a desire to become a Post Production Supervisor. Previous experience creating or managing schedules, budgeting, Google Suite is preferred. The candidate will be hired full time by the Production Company, Fremantle, as a Post Coordinator attachment under the expert guidance of the Post Supervisor and an experienced Post Coordinator. They will also:
- Gain insight into Post-Production workflows and systems from Pre-Production through delivery.
- Assist Post Supervisor/Coordinator on scheduling, budgeting and other deliverables.
- Help ensure that the early stage of Post Production runs as smoothly as possible.
Requirements/Expectations
- Australian citizen or permanent resident status
- Work based in Sydney, NSW
- Understanding of the Post Production process (i.e. editing, mixing, colour grading)
- Are committed to a career in Post Production and are seeking to build on existing skills and knowledge
- Ability to work to deadlines, show initiative and attention to detail
- Understanding of how to prioritize and respond accordingly
Assistant Editor Attachment
For the Assistant Editor position, we are looking for someone who has a desire to become an Assistant Editor or Online Editor. This is a highly technical position so previous experience with editing software is preferred (Avid, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve). The candidate will be hired full time as an Assistant Editor attachment under the expert guidance of the 1st Assistant Editor where they will work closely with the editorial team. They will:
- Be provided with an Editing system (Avid) to perform some of the daily AE responsibilities.
- Assist with the management of all media, providing basic technical support to the edit team.
- Gain hands-on experience assisting with the ingest of footage from multiple cameras and shooting formats.
- Assist with the creation of the turnover materials to picture, sound & music departments for the finishing processes.
- Gain a greater understanding of post-production workflows and systems.
- Help ensure that the early stage of post-production runs as smoothly as possible.

About the Heartbreak High Reboot:
Netflix has commissioned a reboot of the much-loved Australian young adult series Heartbreak High
Inspired by the original ‘90s series, but totally reimagined for a new generation, Heartbreak High will make its global debut on Netflix in 2022.
Fremantle Australia will produce the eight-episode series for Netflix in Sydney with Dutch production company NewBe, which acquired the rights from Brian Abel, partner of the late Ben Gannon, who created and produced the original.
