Inclusive Smartphone Filmmaking Program
Bus Stop Films, together with SF3 SmartFone Flick Fest and Screenworks and SAE Byron Bay are hosting an Inclusive smartphone filmmaking program for Northern Rivers teenagers.
Participants aged 13-17 years old, keen to learn about smartphone filmmaking will attend 3 full day workshops and work together with industry professionals on a film project. The film will then be screened at a screening event.
The free school holiday filmmaking program will take place in January at the SAE Campus in Bryon Bay, followed by a screening event in April 2023. Places are available for up to 15 participants.
Bus Stop Films is passionate about inclusion and teens living with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
The inclusive smartphone filmmaking program is part of the Holiday Break program supported by the Office for Regional Youth in partnership with Create NSW.

Angela is an award-winning filmmaker and the Co-Founder of SF3 – SmartFone Flick Fest, Australia’s international smartphone film festival. Founded in 2015 and after sell-out seasons at the Sydney Opera House & Event Cinemas George St, they are now starting on their 7th season. Angela teaches filmmaking and acting throughout Australia with Bus Stop Films, SF3 and NIDA.
Overview
The program will run in January for one week from the 16-20th of January 2023. All participants will have a one day (10 hour) shoot with industry professionals as mentors.
Participants will work together to create one film as part of the program. A screening of the film will be presented at special event in April 2023.

Entry into the program
Applications have now closed. All applicants have been provided with their outcome via email.
The program is free to participate in however committment to all workshops and the film shooting day is a requirement.
