The Interviewer
Thomas Howell gets more than he bargained for at his interview with a prestigious law firm; an insult about his tie, a rendition of Harry Potter and the chance to change the lives of father and son.
Over a twelve month period, students from the Bus Stop Films workshops held at Sydney Community College, worked alongside director Genevieve Clay-Smith and guest mentors from the film industry to learn how to make a film, from developing a script, understanding mise-en- scène, casting actors, running a set and delivering their very first short. It was an entirely inclusive process from start to finish, and the professional results speak for themselves, with The Interviewer had its world premiere at the 2013 Flickerfest Short Film Festival.
The Interviewer has played at over 45 festivals and won over 30 awards, and sold to 5 territories.
Bus Stop Films produced Heartbreak & Beauty in partnership with Sydney Community College. The project was funded by the office of Family and Community Services, a Department of the New South Wales Government.
The film is directed by Genevieve Clay-Smith and Robin Bryan.
Starring: Gerard O’Dwyer, Winston Cooper and Chris Haywood.
