5.5 million Australians live with disability.

Nationally, people with disability are unemployed at more than twice the rate of people without disability — and 63% face barriers to social and community participation every single day.

1 in 5 (19%) people with disability aged 15–64 experienced social isolation, compared with 9.5% without disability, and 36% were not satisfied with their local community compared with 25% of those without disability.

63% of people with disability aged 15 and over experienced barriers to participating in social and community activities in the last three months.

Bus Stop Films was built to change these numbers. We connect people with disability to real creative careers, programs and social connection- Proving that lives change when our stories are heard, seen and valued.

#INCLUSIVE FILMMAKING

Disrupting the screen sector to create a more inclusive world.

Bus Stop Films is a disability led award-winning non-profit social enterprise, in operation since its history making Tropfest win in 2009. Global leaders in inclusive filmmaking, we have a national footprint providing services to individuals with disability and others from marginalised communities. We work to build skills, confidence and social connections through our Accessible Filmmaking Programs. Our dedicated Bus Stop Employment team supports the d/Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent community to access employment across the arts and media sectors while working with employers to build their confidence in inclusive employment within a production life cycle. Around this we create amazing, entertaining films that make you laugh, cry and swoon!

At Bus Stop Films we use filmmaking and the film industry to change community attitudes globally around the rights and contribution to society of and by people with disability.
